Global Business School Rankings
Many students rely on the ranking when choosing their university or HE education that helps them in the next steps towards their dream career and future.
The students who wish to study MBA programmes can look at annual rankings provided by the Financial Times that publishes a ranking of 100 best business schools worldwide.
The 143 schools that took part in the 2021 release of the data, had to meet the Financial Times criteria such as accreditation by Equis or the AACSB. The ranking measures the schools’ quality and portfolio of programmes and look at data including the alumni salaries, research opportunities and diversity of students by surveying alumni three years after completing their MBA. Only schools with alumni reply rate of 20% will be entered into the ranking calculations.
The top 2 business schools are in Europe with Insead, based in France and Singapore in the first place and the UK’s London Business School at second overall. The American schools kept their strong presence in ranking with Chicago: Booth at third position.
According to the survey by the Graduate Management Admissions Council (GMAC), the student demand for the 2020/21 programmes was up at 72 per cent of the full-time MBA programmes. The reason behind the interest despite the global uncertain economy might be that the students consider further education helping them with future career prospective once the economies around the world start to recover from the pandemic crisis.
Further to the GMAC data, the applications were higher in European schools in 2020 in comparison to US schools that offer programmes that typically cost more and last longer.
