Ireland removes all Covid-19 related travel rules
Students, travellers, visitors have been given green as the Irish government has stated that all remaining Covid-19 entry criteria for overseas visitors have been removed, regardless of vaccination status or place of origin.
The announcement by the Department of Health states that the present epidemiological situation in Ireland continues to be overall positive and with a high level of the population vaccinated, the changes to the management of Covid-19 rules can be made.
In Europe, the situation is changing as well, with numerous EU countries revising the restrictions.
The restrictions have been removed on 6th March, meaning that travellers arriving in Ireland no longer need to complete a passenger locator form, proof of vaccination or recovery, or a COVID-19 test.
While travel restrictions to Ireland have been lifted, other countries may still demand confirmation of vaccination, recovery, or testing. COVID-19 immunisation, booster vaccine, recovery from COVID-19, and verification of a negative COVID-19 test. Therefore, the government will continue issuing the EU Digital COVID Certificate.
The officials also confirmed that these steps were taken to allow people leaving Ukraine to enter the country with fewer obstacles.
The pandemic situation will be constantly monitored by the government.
