New student card for ELT students as a result of the partnership between English UK and Endsleigh
The association of English language schools, English UK, and Endsleigh, an insurance provider announced a partnership to offer ELT students a new student discount and ID card. The card had been be officially launched at the English UK marketing conference in September.
The card will be available for students enrolled at English UK centres who are under 30 years old. The English UK members can earn revenue on each card sold to their students.
The application can be done online and before the student’s arrival to the UK and can be used right away online, the physical card can be collected by the student at the English UK centre and it takes about 5-7 days to arrive at the language centre for the student.
The card, which is part of the International Student Identity Card (ISIC), will serve as a discount card as well as a proof of ID as it has a photo of the student and age.
There is no minimum length of study requirement for the students to get the card and the validity is one year.
The card costs £15 and offers a discount at shops, restaurants, attractions and travel options like Nationals Express, The Hard Rock cafe, and more. The amount of discount varies between 10-50%.
Will Brunwin, Head of Travel & Schools at Endsleigh Insurance said: “Endsleigh are really excited to help launch this new and innovative way to drive some extra income into language centres. It will also benefit students with some major discounts, as well as provide a useful form of photo ID. So language centres get both some extra income and an easy way of supporting their duty of care to students. We think it will really take off.”
Jodie Gray, English UK chief executive thinks that the card would be popular and that the students will benefit from access to all the discounts.
