Language schools in Bournemouth area receive funds to boost the recovery

The local council of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Pool (BCP) has awarded £100,000 to the Regional Accredited Language Schools Association (RALSA) to support the recovery from the effect of the pandemic.
Members of RALSA are British Council accredited language schools located in and around Bournemouth. The association promotes the Bournemouth area as an educational destination by supporting the cooperation, communication between the members whilst ensuring the high quality of English language courses is offered.

The received funds should support the activities designed to promote the English language schools and their work and programmes.

The grant will be used for promotion the area to agents in more than 90 target markets through virtual fam trips of the area and local English language schools; face-to-face fam trips once international travel resumes; and business-to-business events to bring schools and agents together.

The area of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole is famous internationally as an English language destination with quality courses provided by well-established language schools. It attracts international students who wish to combine studies with the ideal seaside location. It has been also a very popular choice for ministays school groups from Europe.

The chairman of RALSA, David Jones said, “We’re delighted to receive this grant which will help us to spread the word in our target markets about Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole as the ideal destination for international students to learn English. This will ensure the continued vitality of the local business community and support BCP Council’s plans to drive growth across the region.

The Bounce Back Challenge Fund has been initiated to support the delivery of projects of local businesses which will generate benefits for the wider economy and many applications have been received since its launch in April 2021. The Councillor Philip Broadhead, said, “Following a competitive application process, we are pleased to award this grant to RALSA. This project is just one of many innovative initiatives that our latest package of discretionary business support will now bring to life. It will contribute towards Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole’s reputation as a place where businesses can continue to flourish and grow.”
