Spanish language schools in Malaga & Covid-19 antigen tests

NACEM, the association of language schools and promoter of the city of Malaga as a language destination, has participated in the testing of 400 antigen tests in employees with support and cooperation of the city council. The Malaga Tourism and City Promotion Board said that the initiative aimed to promote the image of Malaga as a safe destination.  Companies and institutions must work together and collaborate to help the recovery as the city mostly benefits from tourism-related activities and these have been affected by the pandemic.

Spanish language schools in Malaga have seen this opportunity as a step towards recovery. Language tourism is one of Malaga’s strategic sectors, as it combines learning the country’s language and enjoying the cultural attractions, historical heritage and brings a considerable amount of funds to the economy and other local businesses, accommodation providers, restaurants and venues.

The language tourism has had a positive impact on the city, not only by attracting students but also by influencing future potential as any satisfied students with a memorable experience become an ambassador and would share their positive experience further.

The president of NACEM said that the antigen scheme should help to create an image of the city that is a safe destination to learn Spanish. The Council of Malaga City has been asked for the possibility of giving these tests to the students who study in the schools before returning home with more security. These tests are being carried out by other sectors and helping the safety of the city.

He said that the current situation concerning Covid-19 is good as in the city as the health authorities have indicated the infections are stable. The most Spanish language schools in Malaga are operating normally and complying with the pandemic safety rules given by Spanish language school federation FEDELE – Español en España.

The City Council attempts to demonstrate the advantages of the antigen tests and to encourage the businesses in other sectors such as tourism to start practising the testing to help stop the spreading of the virus. The Council has bought 2,000 antigen tests, which according to the WHO offer fast, economic and early detection and can be an excellent tool to prevent and manage possible outbreaks.
