UKEAS enters the Indian market

Education consultancy United Kingdom Education Advisory Service has announced the opening of its first office in India. UKEAS has a presence in other countries: Asia, Africa and in the UK.
The office in New Delhi is the first of 15 offices that are planned to cover the Indian market. The next centres will be opened in Mumbai, Chennai, Pune and Bangalore in 2021 and the remaining 10 in 2022-23.
The regional manager of UKEAS explained that there are significant reasons to enter the Indian market. The popularity of the UK as a study destination amongst Indian students and the numbers both undergraduate and postgraduate have been increasing in the last years.
The idea of establishing in India has been initiated as a response to UKEAS university partners that expressed worries over their financial dependence on tuition from Chinese students. The institutions realised that the need for diversifying their international students’ intake is necessary. UKEAS have seen the step into the Indian market as a great potential to send students to a wide range of partners.
Each country the market varies for example in Taiwan, the market is very rankings conscious compared to Nigeria, which is not at all rankings-focused and is incredibly price concerned.
The Indian market is a combination of different elements that are price sensitive, ranking focus and academic abilities of the students as some of them belong to the best students in the world.
The company will be getting to the market as a fully-owned enterprise and will keep the focus on direct student recruitment over the subagent model. It ensures monitoring and maintaining quality, and will allow them to collect data and intelligence to share with partners.
The access to data in each market is going to be available in 2021 meaning all partners will share what the students are saying, doing, which country and programme they are applying for the most.
In addition to India, the company has also opened new offices in Malaysia and Ghana this year, and modernised existing sites in Manilla and Kaohsiung, in the Philippines and Taiwan.
The company is going through a period of expansion and development and there are also events scheduled with regards to the new office openings.
